Seven Must-Have Videos For Any Manufacturer

As a manufacturer, you have a complex story to tell and different audiences that can benefit from these stories: customers, employees, stakeholders, prospective customers and prospective employees. Here are the seven must-have videos for all manufacturers:

COMPANY OVERVIEW
Every company should have a company overview. This is your company in its current state, not historically. It should feature your products, your differentiators, target markets, anything you do to improve the world and people’s lives today. This could all be summed up in about two minutes, as in this example for Surfacequest:

OUR PROCESS
Don’t be afraid to highlight your process, it could be the very thing that sets you apart. You don’t need to give away any secrets, just focus on how this process benefits the end user. One way to do this is by demonstrating the process and highlighting a new product like we did with National Flooring Equipment for their new mid-sized scraper:

PRODUCT SPECIFIC
Many times customers and prospects just want to know about a specific product you offer. So give them what they want with a detailed product overview video like this one for DBI-Sala to feature their LADSAF X-2.

RECRUITING
A well-crafted video can help attract the right talent. Young talent is also more likely to watch a video about your company and why they should work there. Video is much more valuable for recruiting than words on a page. Here’s a recruiting video we did to help Bauer Built Tires attract more people for their challenging Heavy Duty Service Technician position:

CULTURE
The culture video is important to let the world know who you are as a company. This should be a fun, behind the scenes look at the personalities behind the company. Here is a video that highlights the culture at Leighton Interactive.

CAPABILITIES
Capabilities videos have the unique ability to demonstrate your capacity, processes and the size of your operation in a few minutes.  In this example for Imperial Plastics, you can see the many different products they create and the variety of processes within their capabilities.

TRADE SHOW
If you do trade shows or have a front lobby, a trade show video is a simple loop of imagery and graphics that gives viewers an instant understanding of your business at a glance. These videos typically do not use narration or sound bites since the sound at trade shows is difficult or unwanted. Here is an example of Lowell Engineering's trade show video.
